Antenatal and Postnatal Cares

We provide Combined Mother & Infant, antenatal (before birth) and postnatal (after birth) care under the combined care scheme with the hospital. Combined care is offered in conjunction with our practice nurse who is a trained midwife.

This service is available by completing a Mother & Infant application form with your Doctor and we submit it for approval (please note PPS number must be provided on this form in order to be covered for this service). This service is available to all mothers with a valid PPS number.

The service covers 6 antenatal care consultations and a postnatal consultation for Mum and Baby at two weeks and a six week developmental check for children registered with this practice.

Care for other illnesses which you may have at this time, but which are not related to your pregnancy, is not covered by the Scheme. Unrelated illnesses would include Chest infections or tonsilitis etc., and may incur a fee.

If you require a GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test), this is available free, at the CUMH but may incur a charge if you wish to have it carried out here at the surgery.

Infant care services include growth monitoring and feeding advice.
